Reed Lab is a reed and cane analysis tool for bassoon players. The app helps you document, compare, evaluate, and improve reeds over time through measurements, ratings, notes, and historical tracking. Reed Lab follows a local-first approach, meaning your data stays on your device by default.

How Bassoon Players Use Reed Lab

Log cane measurements (frequency, flexibility, stiffness, geometry)
Rate finished reeds and track what actually succeeds in playing
Compare new cane against your strongest historical reeds
Use ARE-based windows to make better, faster shaping decisions

1. What We Collect

Reed Lab stores the data you enter: cane measurements, reed ratings, notes, and optional media. This data is kept locally on your device by default.

We do not run advertising trackers and we do not sell user data.

2. Data Use

Data is used to calculate statistics and recommendation windows (including ARE-related comparisons), and to show your own historical trends.

3. Cloud Services

Current versions are local-first. If optional cloud sync is enabled in future versions, this policy will be updated before rollout.

4. Data Security

We use platform-standard app sandboxing. You are responsible for securing your device and backups.

5. Children

Reed Lab does not intentionally collect personal data from children. The app can be used for educational and practice contexts under local supervision.

6. Your Control

You can edit or delete entries directly in the app.
You can remove all local data by uninstalling the app.

7. Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top will be updated.
